About LAMPS...
LAMPS is a community service organization in Lubec, ME. With support from volunteers and donors, we provide admission-free cultural events every year in the town of Lubec and raise funds for local non-profits and charities. We also offer educational programs and engage in community outreach.
Our mission is to share our passion for music, to foster connections between local musicians, and to create stronger communities through volunteering and charitable giving. We aim to nurture live local music as well as serve our communities socially and economically. We focus our charitable efforts on Washington County, Maine.
Our summer concert series often begins in June and continues through the summer at Stockford Park and other venues around Lubec. Admission is free. Our summer concerts are fundraising events for local non-profits and charities that are making a difference in Washington County communities. Since 2018 LAMPS has produced or co-produced more than 50 admission-free concerts and raised over $10,000 for local food banks and winter fuel funds.
LAMPS is an educational organization as well. Past music education programs include hosting Jack Williams for a guitar workshop, promoting a performance-lecture called the Blues Spectrum by Scott Cleveland and most recently, hosting mezzo-soprano Jean Strazdes' vocal workshop for teens and adults. In addition to this, LAMPS is pleased to produce music enrichment programs for Lubec Community Outreach Center's Summer Recreation program.
LAMPS aims to work in mutually beneficial relationships with local charities and non-profits. To date LAMPS has provided services to or partnered with the Bay of Fundy International Marathon, Lubec Community Outreach Center, the Town of Lubec, Downeast Coastal Conservancy, the Washington County ARC, Downeast Rainbow Alliance and the Centre Street Congregational Church.
