Musically Mine!

Updated: Mar 20, 2021

LAMPS invites you to contribute to our winter fundraising effort, Musically Mine!

The objective of this program is to build awareness of LAMPS and raise funds to support upcoming programs.

LAMPS (The Lubec Area Musicians Philanthropic Society) is a community service organization in Lubec, ME that provides admission-free cultural events in the town of Lubec to raise funds for local non-profits and charities throughout Washington County Maine. Our mission is to share our passion for music, to foster connections between local musicians, and to create stronger communities through volunteering and charitable giving. LAMPS is a registered 501(c)(3) charity.

Musically Mine is about the music you love. To participate, we are inviting you to create a short video where you introduce and play a piece of music that is important to you. Any music, any genre – any piece that has meaning to you. Introduce the music by explaining its significance. Where did you first hear it? Why does it move you? It’s history, and connections to your experience.

Keep your recording simple – think of this as a Zoom conversation with a friend lasting up to about 8 minutes. You will need to provide a signed release allowing LAMPS to place your video on the internet and identifying appropriate composer/performer credits. You can see an example video and find instructions and the release form at LAMPS will edit your work to add a cover logo and instructions to viewers about how they can support us. Your video will be uploaded to the LAMPS YouTube channel and other social media. It is our hope that we will be able to load new videos weekly through the spring and summer starting in mid March.

With all of us housebound during the pandemic, we believe this will be an entertaining way to raise money for the organization and give us each the opportunity to celebrate the music that we love best.

We hope that you will join us and other LAMPS supporters with Musically Mine. We look forward to hearing your work and raising some funds for a great cause.
