About the event
Stage East is holding auditions for October production of Trifles. Trifles is a rural American true-crime inspired play from the early 1900s that promises to captivate audiences with its clever irony and investigative qualities. It will run for six performances over the weekends of October 11 and 18.
Auditions will be held Saturday, July 27 in two locations: at the Eastport Arts Center, 35 Washington Street in Eastport, from 10:00 am to noon; and at LAMPS, 6 School Street in Lubec, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Trifles highlights the intense gender stereotypes and volatile interpersonal relationships experienced near the end of the 19th century, featuring five characters committed to solving a murder in an abandoned farmhouse. The play calls for both men and women.
